Profile: Pamela D. Tucker
Pamela D. Tucker is Professor of Educational Leadership in the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia. Her twenty-three years in higher education follow 13 years as a K-12 teacher and school administrator. As a practitioner, Dr. Tucker worked with a variety of student populations and served as a special education teacher and administrator, coordinator for a state-level homeless education program, and an advocate for elementary alternative education programs. She brings a broad-based understanding of the full range of student needs that must be met in today’s schools. Her research on teacher effectiveness, school leadership and school improvement has been published in journals such as Educational Administration Quarterly, Journal of Research on Leadership Education, Journal of Personnel Evaluation in Education, Leadership and Policy in Schools, Educational Leadership, and The School Administrator.
