My research sits at the intersection of immigration and education, with particular attention to how U.S. schools shape opportunities for immigrant youth, including undocumented youth. I received my Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley and was a visiting scholar at Harvard's Graduate School of Education. Disciplinarily, I draw from sociology and anthropology to understand how those who routinely come into contact with immigrant youth (such as teachers and other school-based adults) interact with youth as well as how districts understand and take up work connected to supporting immigrant youth.
