Profile: Jamillah Renee Gilbert
Jamillah Gilbert is a Learning and Behavior Specialist of over 25 years in the field of Special Education. She taught in Pre-K–12 classrooms, before becoming joining Illinois State University’s faculty and administration. She serves students through her full-time position as Assistant Director of Curriculum Services. She also teaches in the Department of Special Education and University College. Jamillah Gilbert earned her Bachelors degree in Special Education and Masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction. She is currently in the third year of her doctoral program in Educational Administration & Leadership. Her research interest is in curriculum, with attention to equity in special education teacher preparation programs.
