Imig is a Professor of the Practice at the University of Maryland, Senior Fellow for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, and President Emeritus of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. He was a founding member of the Nationbal Policy Board for Educational Administration and served as Chair of the Policy Board for three terms. He is a co-founder and currently serves as chair of the Board of Directors for the Carnegie Project for the Educational Doctorate. He also co-leads an EdD Cohort Program in School Leadership for the University of Maryland in six school districts in Maryland. Imig holds three degrees from the University of Illinois-Urbana.
