I am a Clinical Professor in Education Policy and Leadership at the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.  I am a former practicing principal in a large urban/suburban school district.  My areas of concentration are school law, policy and politics.  My areas of research interest are student and teacher First Amendment rights as well as Equal Protection analysis as it pertains to diversity in K-12 and higher education settings.  My most recent legal research has centered on the areas of off-campus electronic speech and the First Amendment rights of public school students and employees.  Recent work can be found at:
