Lolita Tabron
Biographical Information

Dr. Lolita A. Tabron is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) in the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver and faculty affiliate at the Interdisciplinary Research Institute for the Study of (In)Equality (IRISE). Dr. Tabron critically examines how public policies, leadership practice, and statistical data can positively transform educational systems or reproduce systemic racism and educational inequalities. Through her research, she aims to better articulate how race conscious approaches to leadership and quantitative inquiry can cultivate and sustain antiracist leadership, policy, and practice in education. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Racial Justice factor prominently in her research, which she addresses in three distinct areas: 1) building pathways that inspires and accelerates the number of leaders of color who use statistics; 2) fostering use of statistics to support social-justice research, leadership, and policy; and 3) elevating stories of Black excellence and improving the conditions and well-being of historically underserved communities. She is deeply committed to research, teaching, and service that is rooted in love, grounded in grace, and rich in respect for all communities, especially those that continue to be historically marginalized and underserved. Dr. Tabron aims to bridge gaps between culturally grounded research, public policy, and P-12 practice.
