Profile: Elizabeth T. Murakami
Elizabeth T. Murakami, Ph.D. is a professor and Mike Moses Endowed Chair in Educational Leadership at the University of North Texas. She earned her master’s in Curriculum and Teaching and doctor of philosophy degree in Educational Administration at Michigan State University. Before becoming a professor, she worked in American international schools in Latin America for 14 years. Her research has been dedicated to the academic success of Latin@ populations from P-20 to advanced professions in education, generating research and pedagogy publications in prestigious journals such as Academe, Journal of Studies in Higher Education; and the International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education; Journal of School Leadership, Educational Management Administration and Leadership (EMAL), and the Journal of School Administration and Supervision, and the volumes Abriendo puertas, cerrando heridas (Opening doors, closing wounds): Latinas/os finding work-life balance in academia, and Brown-Eyed Leaders of the Sun: A Portrait of Latina/o Educational Leaders.
