Decoteau J. Irby is an associate professor at University of Illinois at Chicago in the Department of Education Policy Studies. He teaches primarily in the Urban Education Leadership and Educational Organization and Leadership program areas. His research explores cultural-politics in urban education, leadership, and organizational change with a specific interest on the intersections of race; school climate and culture; district and school-wide discipline polices and practices; and the schooling experiences of black males.
