Profile: Mary Martin Patton
Dr. Mary Martin Patton is currently Dean of the College of Education at TCU. Dr. Patton's experiences prior to this appointment include 17 years in public school teaching in special education and early childhood education. She has served in many leadership roles including principal of a PK-12 school on the North Slope of Alaska and Coordinator of Early Childhood Programs at the University of New Mexico and TCU. Dr. Patton’s research and teaching are focused on play and learning, multicultural education and urban education. Most recently she is active in resurrecting recess as an important part of the school day by supporting and promoting the LINK project at TCU www.liinkproject.tcu.edu. She is active in many professional organizations including serving on the board of Texas Women in Higher Education. She is an alumna of the University of Texas and the Harvard Institute for Management and Leadership.
