Biographical Information

Arvin Johnson currently serves as a faculty member in the educational leadership department within the Bagwell College of Education (BCOE) at Kennesaw State University. In this role my primary responsibilities include teaching/mentoring students, contributing to the educational leadership knowledge base through scholarly activities, and committing to various service endeavors within my department, the BCOE, and the university. In addition, I have organized and directed the Principal Academy at KSU since its inception in 2017. The primary purpose of the academy is to provide targeted professional learning for school leaders. In this role, I am responsible for establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with multiple school districts.  Another important aspect of this role is properly aligning the expertise of educational leadership faculty with the professional learning needs of local school leaders. This alignment is critical to academy capacity and effectiveness. University and school-district partnerships are essential to ensuring that school leaders are well-prepared to meet the complex demands of leading schools in the 21st century.
