Profile: David G. Buckman

I completed my Doctor of Philosophy degree in the Educational Leadership and Policies Department at the University of South Carolina. In addition to my Ph.D., I have also received an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from the University of South Carolina, a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of South Carolina, and a B.S. in Physical Education from the University of South Carolina. I have professional experience in South Carolina’s public school system serving as a teacher, coach, and school administrator. Currently, I serve as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership and Ed.S. Coordinator in Kennesaw State University’s Educational Leadership Department.
My primary research area is school human resources practices and school finance issues in K-12 educational environments. Essentially, my research encompasses job quality practices and its effect on employees as it relates to industrial psychology theories (i.e., job satisfaction, pay satisfaction, and motivation), administrative hiring practices, state policy, and their relationship with student achievement metrics.
