Biographical Information

As an educational leader, I am passionate about the power of teaching and learning. The integration of technology in education is imperative.  Licensed in teaching visual arts, graphic arts, humanities, and gifted education, I enjoyed educating K-12 students for seven years including three years in the greater Indianapolis area and four years in a U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) school in Seoul, Korea.  I became a school administrator and school-wide instructional leader in 2012 as an assistant principal in a U.S. DoDEA school in Yokosuka, Japan.  Combining my teaching knowledge, school leadership training and practices, and capabilities as a school administrator and teacher, I am confident that my experiences and education have prepared me to be an exceptional leader in educational support, technology integration, and academic development throughout the United States.

As a leader in education, it is my responsibility to lead with and instill in others a well-defined value system based on honesty, respect, accountability, creativity, and the pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning.  In addition to my leadership roles and responsibilities as a school administrator, my educational background and prior experiences as an art and gifted teacher and artist allow me to utilize a diverse and creative set of skills and abilities to enhance and improve student achievement.  In my current position, I lead my school in implementing effective teaching and learning techniques in topics related to mentoring, school counseling collaboration, integrative STEM, and support for educational leaders.  On a regular basis, I conduct needs-based formative and summative assessments, develop and deliver meaningful trainings, and track academic data to ensure progress.  Additionally, I collaborate with multiple stakeholders (parents, students, teachers, community members, military members) and educational leaders frequently in order to effectively communicate, share, and work towards our department's mission.
